Hey Ted

Great trip - great blog!

So, is it a positive or a negative that such a massive project could never get done today in the USA?

Also, did people in China appear to care one way or the other about the environmental impact of flooding 600KM of canyons and valleys?

Hello. We are friends of Marnie and Asa Phillips. We live in Weston, MA and are about to embark on a similar journey. We have also met with the Simons to be inspired. Our intinerary is somewhat in the works. We plan to arrive in Bangkok on Nov 1, go from there to Bhutan, Vietnam, Cambodia,Laos on to India by Dec 22, then Australia, New Zealand, Figi...returning end Feb/early March. We have also just returned from Kenya. Our daughters are 12 and 14...we would love to "chat", exchange ideas...what did you pack that was good, not good...places you have been that are great, not great...

hope to hear from you. Allegra Manacher Kohlberg (amana1@aol.com)

Hi TEGS,
Just wanted to say hi from RI. Your trip looks amazing! I have been following the blog from my office :( I was hoping to be able to make it to Hong Kong to meet up with you all, but in my line of work, we have to mess things up pretty good in order to justify a trip overseas. I hope you're all doing well and really enjoying every minute of your adventure. See you in the summer! Ceileidh
